Community
Welcome
The Charter Township of Clinton is the most populous township in the state of Michigan. With more than 100,000 residents, Clinton Township is Michigan’s tenth largest municipality. Despite its size, Clinton Township offers residents a wealth of tight-knit residential neighborhoods with all the amenities that families require.
Clinton Township is literally at the center of Macomb County, which makes it as unique as the three branches of the Clinton River that run through it. Near the Civic Center, there is a 24-acre arboretum that offers residents a chance to enjoy the beauty of trees and plants that are native to Michigan.
Educational opportunity and access to quality healthcare are some of Clinton Township’s strongest assets. There are three K-12 schools districts within township borders, as well as the Center Campus of Macomb Community College. Through partnerships with 12 colleges and universities, the Macomb University Center offers more than 75 programs. There are two major hospitals in Clinton Township. Both Henry Ford Health System and McLaren Health Care continue to expand their facilities and services to better care for township residents.
Township leaders work closely with the area Chambers of Commerce to encourage and welcome new businesses to Clinton Township. Not a month goes by without township officials attending the opening of a new store, restaurant, or service. As the “big-box” retailers close some of their locations, the township’s plan is to re-purpose and redevelop those sites.
The outstanding police, fire, and public services Clinton Township provides to its residents are the foundation of the community. The township offers world-class shopping at the Mall at Partridge Creek and assorted dining options that span the spectrum from fast food to fine dining. The township has a diverse population as well as a variety of housing options. Quality of life offerings, such as parks, recreation and a vibrant senior center are highly valued amenities that attract people to Clinton Township.
