Holiday Schedule for Trash Collection
GFL Environmental Services observes:

If one of these observed holidays falls on a weekday, trash collection will be one day behind for the remainder of the week, with Friday’s collection on Saturday.
RUBBISH: Use plastic trash bags and place at the street before 6:30 a.m., but not earlier than 6:00 p.m. of the preceding evening. Plastic bags must be tied and placed into the provided trash cart. GLASS AND SHARP OBJECTS: Wrap glass and sharp objects in heavy newspaper.
CARDBOARD BOXES: Must be flattened and tied together.
CARPETING: Must be rolled/bundled/tied in four foot lengths and no heavier than 50 pounds each.
LATEX PAINT: Latex paint cans may be placed at the curb or in the trash cart only if the lids are removed and any leftover paint is completely dry. Cat litter or sand may be added to speed up the drying process. Oil based paint is a hazardous material, see below.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS: Do not dispose of hazardous materials with your rubbish. Contact the Macomb County Hazardous Waste Department at 586-469-5236 or at the link below:
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, ROCKS, DIRT, SOD, BRICKS OR CONCRETE: Are not considered household rubbish and will not be removed by the trash hauler.

You do not need to call for a special pick-up of bulk items. You may place an item such as an appliance, furniture, or mattress out with your regular trash.

YARD WASTE/COMPOST: The annual yard waste removal program commences March 12, 2018 and runs through the end of November 2018. This program is for the pick up and removal of all vegetation, yard waste, grass clippings, and leaves. The township contractor will pick up compost materials on your regular rubbish pick up day. All leaves, grass and other yard waste must be placed in either paper compost bags or 32 gallon trash cans with no bags. The trash cans must be affixed with a compost sticker which is available at the Department of Public Services or by calling (586) 286-9300. Compost containers must not be heavier than 50 pounds.
BRANCHES: Branches less than four feet in length which are bundled and less than 50 pounds per bundle may be placed at the curb with compost. Do not put branches in cans or bags. For larger branches call the Department of Public Services at (586) 286-9300 to schedule the chipper truck.
To all owners of land located in Clinton Township. It shall be the duty of all owners of land on which noxious weeds are growing to destroy the weeds before they reach a height of six inches or re-grow to a height of six inches, and to prevent such noxious weeds from perpetuating themselves. Weeds must be cut no later than May 1 of each year, and as many times as necessary to maintain a height of no more than six inches.
Failure of any property owner to destroy said noxious weeds by May 1 of each year, and thereafter as necessary, may result in the property owner being subjected to a fine not more than $100.00 or ninety (90) days in jail and/or both, and will result in the township entering on said premises to destroy said weeds as often as necessary at the expense of the property owner. Said expense will consist of a lien on the property as provided by law.
