Sump Pump Advisory
Water powered sump pumps use municipal (city) water pressure to pump out your sump well when your primary electric sump pump fails to do so. When the water powered sump pump is submerged, it creates a cross connection that can contaminate the public water supply if the flow of water is reversed during low pressure events.
A "reduced pressure principal backflow preventer" (also known as an RPZ) meeting ASSE standard 1013 is required per state mandate at the plumbing immediately prior to the water powered sump in order to protect the public water supply.
Should you have any questions regarding this matter or have any doubts concerning your systems installation or back flow protection, please call the Cross Connection Inspector at 586-286-9300.

RiverSafe LakeSafe Program
CRWC's RiverSafe LakeSafe program is now live and public! and we are so excited to share it with all of you as part of the stormwater education contract you hold with us. This is a program that will help the residents in your communities educate themselves on best management practices for water quality on a homeowner scale - lawn care, household hazardous waste, auto/boat maintenance, etc. and then provide them with recognition of their good practices from CRWC in the form of a lawn/garden plaque. You can view more information about the program by viewing the document below or by visiting http://www.crwc.org/riversafe-lakesafe/
