The Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC) created Adopt-A-Stream as a way to gauge the water quality in the creeks, streams and drains that feed into the Clinton River and eventually into Lake St. Clair and the Great Lakes.

Water Bug Count
On September 29, 2018, members of the Conservation Committee joined Members of the Arboretum Committee for their Annual Arboretum Tree Planting. At that time, Conservation Committee members counted water bugs to gauge the health of the water running through Kukuk Creek. The count is a twice-a-year commitment. Unfortunately, the count reveals fair to poor water quality.
Special thanks to Amanda, from the Macomb County Public Works office and formerly of the CRWC, who provided us the training and technical expertise on how to collect the samples, know what we were looking at and how to collect the data. Also, special thanks to Sydney Chabot, the daughter of Scott Chabot, Conservation Committee member, township resident and civil engineer with the firm, Anderson Eckstein and Westrick.
