Board of Review & Appeal Information
The Board of Review is a three member board comprised of Clinton Township residents; they are appointed by the Clinton Township Board. The Board of Review receives the assessment roll as prepared by the Assessor and reviews the roll to ensure it is complete, accurate, and uniform. The Board of Review has various authorities to make adjustments in order to ensure assessments are lawfully set. The Board of Review meets each March to hear appeals from taxpayers regarding assessments, values, and exemptions. The Board of Review also meets in July and December to make corrections to the assessment roll (no taxpayer value appeals in July/December). All meetings are held pursuant to the Open Meetings Act. 2022 March Board of Review
The 2022 March Board of Review adjourned on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Decision notices were mailed to all petitioners on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Please see the bottom of the decision notice for information on how to further appeal to the Michigan Tax Tribunal. Please contact the Assessing Department at 586-286-9468 with any questions.
July & December Board of Review
The 2022 July Board of Review will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. The December Board of Review will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. These special meetings of the Board of Review are held to hear appeals of the following only: Principal Residence Exemptions, Poverty Exemptions, Disabled Veterans Exemptions, and Qualified Errors including clerical errors and mutual mistakes of fact. Appeals over an opinion of value are only heard at the March Board of Review.
