The State of Michigan has three laws regarding the use and sale of medical and recreational marijuana. Spraying to control the Gypsy Moth took place on May 24 at 6:30 a.m. Spraying was approved at the April 8, 2019 Board of Trustees meeting in the amount of $40,000. A new Township Board is being formed. The Board of Ethics The initial members of the Board of Ethics shall be appointed for one, two and three year terms of office, respectively, beginning on a July 30, 2019 and thereafter, shall be appointed to three year terms. The Board of Ethics shall be made up of residents of the Township, who have legal, administrative or other desirable qualifications, and shall serve without any compensation. Members shall not be elected officials, persons appointed to elective office, full time appointed officials, Township employees, nor shall they currently be serving on any Township committee or commission. This particular Board has strict time sensitive deadlines. Please refer to section VII A (page 13) of the Township Ethics Policy for all stipulations and specifics.

The deadline to submit an application is June 21, 2019. The “Appointments to the Ethics Policy Board”, will be on the Board of Trustee’s agenda for the July 29, 2019 meeting. Residents scheduled for a Monday pickup will have their rubbish picked up on Tuesday, and rubbish collection will remain one day behind schedule all week with Friday's pickup on Saturday.
There is one partial terms for the alternate position on the Board of Review. The board meets beginning the Tuesday after the first Monday in March and then meets almost every day thereafter during the month of March and for one day in July and one day in December. The terms are for two years expiring December 31, 2020. The Board of Review members are paid $50 per session and in March there are usually two sessions per day. Alternate position is paid when attending a meeting in place of a regular committee member. The Board of Review has the responsibility of hearing property valuation appeals lodged by owners or their representatives. Appeals are for property assessments and/or taxable values for the current year. It is desirable though not mandatory for applicants to have some knowledge of property values, building construction, and a business background.
