Economic Development Commission
There are 6 terms expiring on the Economic Development Commission. These partial terms are for three years and expire on July 10, 2023. The commission meets, as necessary on the second Tuesday of the month, 7:30 a.m., at the Township Civic Center. The purpose of the EDC is to encourage economic growth and development in the community, particularly industrial based. It is also to review tax exemptions for industrial businesses.

Compensation Commission
There is one partial term that is open on the Compensation Commission for Township Elected Officials. This is a five-year term to expire on August 14, 2024. The Commission shall determine the salary of each Township elected official unless the Township Board by resolution adopted by two thirds of the members elected to and serving on the Board rejects the determination. The Commission shall meet not more than fifteen session days in each odd number year.

Conservation Committee
There is one partial term that is open on the Conservation Committee. One partial term expires November 30, 2021. The committee meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Clinton Township Civic Center. The purpose of the committee shall be to preserve and maintain in an undisturbed and natural condition the watercourses, wetlands, floodplains, wildlife and other natural resources within the Township.

Beautification Committee
There are two open partial terms on the Beautification Committee. The committee holds terms of two years with an expiration of October 1, 2021. The purpose of the committee is to initiate, promote, and coordinate the beautification efforts within Clinton Township.

Committee Appointment Policy Guidelines
Authority: All applications for appointment to boards, commissions and/or committees that the Board of Trustees shall have authority to make shall be submitted to all Board members and voted upon by the Board at a scheduled Board of Trustee’s meeting. By State Statute, the Planning Commission and the Downtown Development Authority Members are appointed by the Township Supervisor with the Township Board of Trustees approval.
Notice: Thirty days prior to any committee expiration date, a notice of the intended vacancy will be posted by the Administrative Assistant on the Township website and media channels. Board members will be advised as well. The notice shall include description of function, membership requirements, any per diem paid, term of appointment, method of appointment, application instruction and due date materials, dates of introduction opportunities, date the appointment is expected to be made and where to find more information (i.e. website address, phone number, contact name).
Application: Interested individuals will be directed to complete an Application for Appointment which can be downloaded off the web site or obtained from the Trustee's Office. Those wishing to be re-appointed will also be required to complete an Application for Appointment.
Application Submission: All applications will be submitted to the Administrative Assistant no later than two weeks prior to the date of voting thereon. (As agenda items, ten days prior to the meeting). The cut-off date will be specified on each posting. Applicants must include any required documentation per stature and may include non-mandatory items such as a resume, letter of intent, or letter of reference.

The “Introduction of Appointment Applicants” will include a statement by each applicant in attendance, which is limited to three minutes.
Appointment: A letter will be prepared placing the appointment(s) on the Board of Trustee’s agenda after the “Introduction of Appointment Applicants” is held. Applicants are welcome to attend the Board of Trustee’s meeting but their presence is not required. Prior to appointment, the Administrative Aide will compile a summary of the residential/geographical location of current appointees. All candidates will be notified of the outcome via a letter from the Administrative Aide.
